What is this SCAM?
"CBI says it has registered a case against 17 Army officials including Lieutenant Colonel, Major, Naib Subedar, Sepoy, etc. 6 private persons and others on allegations pertaining to bribery and irregularities in recruitment of officers and other ranks through Service Selection Board (SSB)," informed CBI. The persons involved in this scam leaked the paper and handled this operation from the inside of the defense ministry and ran many pre-military-training schools.
THE ARMY RECRUITMENT EXAM PAPER LEAK
1) On March 8, a 45-year-old army officer of a major rank was arrested by Pune city police in Tamil Nadu in connection with the Army recruitment exam paper leak. The police further informed that it was the ninth arrest in the case in which two different FIRs were registered with the police last month.
2) On March 14, after detecting malpractices in the officers' selection at its center in Punjab during a military intelligence operation, the Indian Army has handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for probing the case in detail.
THE CASH FLOW OF THIS SCAM
It is alleged that Lieutenant Kanwar bribed Lt. Col. Bhagwan and Naib Subedar Singh for his selection. The FIR mentions that rupees 10 lakh was given via Naib Subedar and another accused, Pragati Singh. Two cadets, Hemant Dagar and Inderjeet, have been accused of bribing Major Kumar for selection. Among those named in the case are Havildar Pawan Kumar of the Army Service Corps Centre, Bengaluru; Major Amit Fagna of Field Hospital in Delhi Cantonment; Naik Parwinder Jeet Singh of the Medical Board Section at Base Hospital; Sepoys Kuldeep Singh and Rohit Kanwar; and Havildars Rajesh Kumar and Harpal Singh.
