The Third Wave
The third wave of the virus outbreak in India is inevitable, experts say. The third wave is going to be supposedly far deadlier than the two initial waves. The third wave will allegedly hit the country in September/October according to researchers. With the second wave declining day by day, the thought of a deadlier third wave is frightening but it also provokes caution which is going to be necessary to brace ourselves for what may come. Alerting the masses about the wave will prove to be beneficial as people now are prudent after learning from the experience of the last two waves. The second wave, in particular, has proven to be devastating.
ls the Government Ready for Third Wave
The History has been repeating itself time and again. India battled the first wave of the disease considerably well but the same cannot be said about the second wave. he huge population of the country is one of the major factors as to why so many people are affected and India surely does not have enough resources to fight covid. The fact that there was currently a very high death and mortality rate with sudden lockdowns and shutting off of basically the whole country created an atmosphere of utter commotion.
Had the government been more critical and cancelled enormous gathering such as Kumbh Mela, the situation might not have been this much deadlier. The safeguards are to be implemented by not only the citizens but the government needs to take a stand against this virus. They need to set the right protocols and ensure the safety of e citizens especially the youth at all costs, citizens of the country especially the frontline workers are eagerly waiting tor the government to come up with a proper plan. If the government is ready to learn from its past mistakes, we might have a better chance of fighting against the third wave. However, the next few months are very CRUCIAL for the country.
The Age Group Most Affected
The third surge of the disease will supposedly hit the younger generation i.e. children below 18 years of age. The reason behind this is that the children are yet to be vaccinated and are not immune to the virus. Paediatrician Dr Kamal Kishore Dhole said, "The third wave is just a few months away and children getting infected with the virus is even a challenge for their family members. He goes on to say that the fatality risk" among children has "little evidence.
The main explanation given by experts is the fact that the younger generation is not vaccinated, which is the only sane explanation that they can give as to why it will affect children under 18. To further clarify this does not necessarily mean that a larger number of the younger generation will get infected, however, they could make p a higher percentage of the infected population during the third wave.
The Courts are also bracing themselves for the inevitable" third wave. They are ensuring that the children should not be affected in any way shape or form, whatsoever. They can't afford to open the school this year for obvious reasons.
How is it Different from The Previous Two Waves
The third wave may be more ferocious than the second wave if more children will get affected. There might be a pandemonium among the masses because of the lack of pediatricians in the ICU. The first wave of covid hit the older generation because of their impending ailments and their susceptibility to catching the infection rapidly. The second wave saw a spike in covid cases among the youth and middle age demographic of our country, mainly because they are the working class, and they were supposed to go out for their jobs and work.
After the hit on the economy from the first two waves, combined with more and more youth getting vaccinated by the day we may see more activity from the working-class citizens which may have unforeseen circumstances. The people although vaccinated can still ct as carriers that can affect others and most mportantly the children who are not yet immune to the disease, So, this adds to the long list of what may go wrong in the third wave, making it more difficult to curb instantly and hence the proper set of rules are to be followed by all the citizens of India ensure and keep in check the spread of this deadly virus.
